Michele Clarkson is the "Artist in Residence" at Waterfront Gallery at the foot of Hurontario Street in Downtown Collingwood. |

"I'm settled in Collingwood ... I love Collingwood" says Michele Clarkson. Michele has opened her new gallery, called Waterfront Gallery, at the foot of Hurontario Street north of First Street in the Admiral Building (LCBO), just a stone's throw from the water and the new Shipyard's Development.
Michele grew up in a small town and spent much of her childhood with a paint brush or a sketching pad in her hand. Michele attended the Ontario College of Art on a part-time basis, focusing her studies on painting and colour theory. For the most part, Michele says she's self taught, describing herself as a Realist Painter.
Michele has been invited to exhibit in some of the most prestigious art shows in Ontario: The McMichael Gallery, The National Capital Fine Art Festival, Wye Marsh Wildlife Art Festival, Midland Waterfest and the Buckhorn Wildlife Art Festival, The Archives of Ontario and The Algonquin Art Centre in Algonquin Park.

Michele Clarkson has a great idea. She has decided to install an in-store computer system to display the work of some of the people she shows with. "I can show some of their original work without having the actual art in the gallery" Michele said. Her goal is to create an online inventory of the artwork and to create an image bank of work created by local artists. Michele's ambition is to be able to say "how can I help you find what you're looking for" The online inventory displaying a rotating slideshow of images will allow her the opportunity to do just that.
