Canada Day 2007 - Collingwood Downtown
Canada Day 2007 in Collingwood Downtown saw citizens and visitors gather together to celebrate our nation's 140th birthday. Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st began early with an outdoor pancake breakfast in front of Town Hall each day. Sunday July 1st was highlighted by the cutting of the Canadian Flag Birthday Cake in front of the Collingwood Downtown Federal Building. Prior to the cutting of the cake, everyone was invited to participate in the Citizenship Reaffirmation Ceremony. The Collingwood Festival For Canada featured a Downtown Farmers' Market, Children's Activities, Downtown Merchant Sidewalk Sale and live entertainment on the streets in Collingwood Downtown throughout the entire weekend. It is a terrific celebration and it happens every year in Collingwood Downtown.
Music filled the air throughout Collingwood's Historic Downtown District. Downtown stages featured performances by the Regal Jazz Band, Blind YT Somers Band, Fisherman, Frannalee, Jeff Cunningham & Adam Webster, Hunnay, Frankie & the Favourites, Jason Redman, Sacha & Friends, Jim Anderson, David Whipper and Erin McCallum & Roadtrip.
