Downtown Collingwood hosted Collingwood's Canadian Idol hopeful Drew Wright as he performed at The Station on Saturday July 5th. Four nights later, Wright was voted into the Canadian Idol Top 10. Now, Wright will assume the life of a rock star, living in the Canadian Idol Mansion, travelling, and meeting giants in the recording industry. No matter what happens in future episodes, Wright has taken giant steps to establish a career in music in this country. CTV captured the live performance at The Station on video for use on future Canadian Idol shows.

Drew Wright put on a show to say "thank you" to Collingwood on Saturday night at The Station. He is certainly enjoying being a part of the Canadian Idol experience, knowing in the back of his mind that the national television exposure he is receiving can help him achieve a career in the music business. "There's a lot of amazing talent this year" Wright said in an online interview on CTV.ca. "I'd love to perform for a living. It would be amazing" he added.

You may have seen Drew Wright perform as the lead singer for the popular local band "Malleus," winner of the Rock 95 Battle of the Bands competition a year ago. "I'd never done Idol before. I thought I'd explore the avenue. It's my last eligible year so I thought I'd give it a shot" Wright said..
